Of course, many of these people want to get one of the Native American tattoos to pay respect to their heritage and maybe even feel bonded to the tribe that they are related to. Native American tattoos such as the tribal armbands can be quite beautiful, but unless you have direct contact with the tribe it's probably better to hold off on getting such a tattoo to make sure that you are getting the correct type of tattoo.

If you are into Native American tattoos just because you like the way they look, then go for it. The Cree and Cherokee tribes both had very unique writing styles, so if you want a Native American tattoo that is different you might want to think about doing something like that. Native American tattoos were often done on the face, though you might want to seriously consider this is something you'll be able to have and still work and take part in the things that you like to without being discriminated against.

Native American tattoos can be very beautiful and they are something that dates back to the beginning of the tribes, but be sure if you are getting one that you are getting it for the right reasons. If you are simply trying to get in touch with your Native American roots, there are better ways to learn about your culture. If you simply like the look, then go for it
